I mentioned yesterday about our wonderful eggplant dish but failed to tell you about the baklava. All I can say is I've never had it so good.
So today's delights included a lunch recommended by our guide. I had a lamb intestine sandwich, Cathy had a fresh salad, we shared an order of stuffed mussels, and each had a large mug of lager. Our per person tab ran about $8 for all that. But more important the food was soooo good.
At dinner Cathy and I ate at a RS recommended restaurant atop the ancient city wall near the mouth of the Bosporous. We both had the same thing, Topkepi Kebab which was a spicy stew of grilled meat, grilled veggies, spices and topped with cheese. It kinda looked like a deep dish pizza without the crust. That, plus two appetizers and two deserts ran a whopping $12-$13 each. And with a view of the sea. Try to beat that Olive Garden. If only our gastronomical fortunes can carry on like this...
